Macquarie Educational Tours supports Free to be Kids – an organisation which rescues children out of child slavery, child prostitution, and other dangerous situations in many countries around the world, and brings them to a safe home where children are given an opportunity to be ‘free to be kids’ – to have a childhood.
When we look around the world at the poverty and indescribable conditions that many people live in, we cannot help but be moved with compassion for our fellow human beings.
It is our human responsibility to do our small part to assist in whatever way we can and to show that we care about the people in our world.
As an organisation, we are focusing our effort on one area – an orphanage in a small town called Handpost, in rural India. Part of our annual profit goes to important projects at this Free to be Kids orphanage.
Our donations have enabled them to purchase a vehicle to transport children to and from medical care. Previously they had to transport children on the back of an old motorbike.
This vehicle now makes easier the task of rescuing additional children from horrific situations in the region.
We’ve just sent further donations to enable an upgrade of the plumbing for a toilet & shower block.
As we are able, we will continue to financially support this orphanage and keep you updated with projects that we’ve been able to contribute to.
