Tim was very helpful in organising luggage, entry to events etc. He was accommodating with Peter Brock wall signing.
The Blue Mountains is significant as a World Heritage area, for its Aboriginal history and for its role in early colonial exploration and expansion.
Most of our tours heading west take advantage of some of the spectacular lookouts for a morning tea or lunch stop on the way through the Blue Mountains. However we can also design a specific itinerary featuring the Blue Mountains area:
- Your students will be able to better appreciate the incredible pioneer spirit of the early explorers when they see for themselves the sheer cliffs plunging hundreds of metres to the valleys below.
- They can see first hand the remains of convict-built roads and bridges, and the remains of the famous “Explorer’s Tree” with the explorers’ initials still faintly discernable.
- They can visit Scenic World for the thrill of riding the Scenic Railway and Cableway and then explore the rainforest and early coal mining history of the area.
- Visit the giant Imax theatre and see “The Edge” a movie experience showcasing the Blue Mountains.
- Engage your students with interactive NPWS Discovery Rangers programs and activities learning about the environment, sustainable tourism in a World Heritage area, Aboriginal history and culture and more.
- Add a visit to Jenolan Caves with guided cave tours, walks, spectacular scenery and even abseiling or caving activities for the more adventurous.
There is a range of accommodation choices in the Blue Mountains area including campsites specifically designed for large school and church groups.
We can design an itinerary to suit your time allowance, budget, and curriculum requirements, including some of the Blue Mountains attractions en-route to another destination, or as the feature of your tour.
