Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)
The Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) provides a subsidy for students from years 4 to 12 visiting Canberra as part of their civics and citizenship education. If you are planning a school excursion to Canberra and wish to apply for the rebate, please download the PACER Guidelines and Application form (as amended with effect from 1 July 2008). Please read the Guidelines carefully as conditions apply to payment of the rebate.
Important tips when applying for PACER

- Please submit your application AT LEAST 3 WEEKS PRIOR to the excursion. Applications will be accepted up to 6 months prior to the excursion. Please note that there is a limited amount of PACER funding and applications are dealt with in order of receipt until funds are exhausted.
- To be eligible for PACER you must have bookings at Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, and Old Parliament House and/or the Electoral Education Centre. If you are unable to make a booking at these institutions, please contact NCETP in the first instance.
- An itinerary (which indicates booking times at the above institutions) MUST accompany your application.
- If your application is approved you will receive further paperwork to be completed including a CIVICS INSTITUTION FORM that must be taken on your excursion. If you have not received this paperwork within 2 weeks of sending in your application please contact the NCETP office.
