Let Macquarie Educational Tours take the hassle out of organising your school's excursion to Jenolan Caves!

by Macquarie Educational Tours Destination

The Award winning Jenolan Caves is the ideal destination for school groups, best described as ‘Nature’s Classroom’. The truly unique surrounds offer opportunity to experience rare wildlife, unchanged and contrasting ecosystems, and geological formations wilder than the imagination.

The experienced and nationally accredited guides at Jenolan Caves cater for a wide range of activities, to suit the needs of all students K to 12. Programs incorporate all areas of the school curriculum. These programs offer experiential learning through such activities as Adventure Caving, abseiling, bush navigation/orienteering, environmental studies walks and Stream Watch.

School groups can also choose to tour one or more of the ten show caves, and the tour content can be tailored to a specific study requirement. Traditionally schools tour the Lucas Cave, which easily takes the largest groups. But don’t forget the fabulous Chifley and Imperial Caves – also great for larger groups.

Jenolan Caves is located only 3 hours from Sydney making it an ideal destination for your next excursion. During a 2 day excursion to Jenolan Caves your students will have an opportunity to experience the World’s oldest caves (340 million years!); you can also incorporate other environmental focused activities in the Blue Mountains, or continue further west to Bathurst to incorporate activities supporting the topic of Australia’s gold rush history.
