A day tour to the Snowy Mountains, about 3 hours drive south of Canberra, doesn’t have to cost the earth and the memories last a lifetime.

Snowy Mountains

A simple “snow-play” experience includes hire of snow clothing & free time to build a snowman, throw snowballs, make a ‘snow angel’, take photos and other fun activities.

Options at the Snow

  • Add a chairlift or snow-tube rides

  • Tobogganing*

  • Visit the Snowy Hydro Centre in Cooma where students watch a short DVD and learn about the Hydro scheme

  • For the more adventurous, include one or more days skiing (or snowboarding) complete with all hire gear, lessons and time to practice new-found skills

  • Most groups now choose to include hire of helmets if skiing or boarding

  • Guided snowshoe tours are increasing in popularity

  • Our vehicles all carry the correct snow chains as required by law

  • Our Coaches take you right to the snow at your choice of Thredbo, Perisher or Selwyn Ski Resorts

  • Alternatively, The Skitube is an option for travel to Perisher Resort

Visit the snowy mountains during the warmer months and participate in a range of alpine environmental programs through the national parks centre at Sawpit Creek. Thredbo also offers a summer alpine program including (Subject to weather) a guided walk to the summit of Mount Kosciusko, a bobsled ride, chairlift ride and use of the indoor heated swimming pool or the indoor rock climbing wall.
